Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (10/23/14)

Objectives: 1) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) I can greet and introduce people properly. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese greeting courtesy.
Homework: 1) Review consonants / vowels & study Lesson Two for your chapter test. 2) WB page 13.  3) quizlet link:   http://quizlet.com/3629391/ni-hao-1-lesson-2-vocabulary-flash-cards/. http://quizlet.com/_w2mk3 (by Andrew Flis).
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Captains check WB pages 10 / 12. Go over answer key. 2) Daily dictation (blending, characters). 3) Teach Compound Vowels (2) sections 5-6.
2. 1) Go over textbook pages 7-9, 10-11, & 13-15. 2) Independent work: Quizlet.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/23/14)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese calligraphy, Chinese language, and how Chinese characters evolve.
Homework: Review learned characters and greeting terms.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (greeting terms + characters). 2) Teach new terms (dui bu qi, mei guan xi). 3) Teach new characters (sun, moon). Collect.
2. 1) Video clips: Chinese calligraphy + (sun, moon, people). 2) Culture reading: China (pages 2-3).
