Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (10/30/14)

Objectives: 1) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) I can sight read text passages and multi-syllable words fluently. 3) I can create a skit with a partner.
Homework: 1) Review consonants / vowels & learned Chinese characters. 2) Quiz #8 (Sight read multi-syllable words): Monday, 11/3/14.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Collect money for Halloween dressing up. Draw a number for your new seat in the 2nd quarter. (1P/4P) Sign up for Chinese Club meeting. Makeup work (4P: Kylie S., Carlos; 8P: David, Matt). Work at room 124 computer lab on next Monday. 2) Teach Front Nasal Sounds handout. 3) Sound out multi-syllable words. 4) (8P) Go over text passages on page 23.
2. While Ms. Chang complete oral exam / retake  Pair activity: brainstorm your skit.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/30/14)

Objectives: 1) I can recognize Chinese picture and number characters. 2) I can have hands-on experience of making origami. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese birthday celebration, Chinese tea, superstition about numbers, and Chinese early invention.
Homework: 1) Quiz #2 (20 Chinese characters): Monday, 11/3/14. 2) Review learned characters.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (20 characters). Return Chinese character writing assignment. Makeup work (5P: Scot P.) 2) Video clips: Chinese tea / birthday celebration. 3) Culture reading: Chinese early invention / Birthdays.
2. Origami time.
