Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (11/24/14)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read Chinese characters and pinyin sentences fluently and accurately. 2) I can name and comprehend common school supplies. 3) I can use Chinese negative word, possessive particle, and confirmation question word to construct sentences. 4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 5) (1P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese brush pen and Chinese character through viewing video clips. 6) I can review sentence patterns through playing interactive game.
Homework: 1) Review Sounds 1 assessment: Monday, 12/1/14. Vocabulary quiz: Thursday, 12/4/14. 2) Lesson Five oral exam: Monday, 12/8/14, chapter test: Wednesday, 12/10/14. 3) WB pages 28-29.
Procedure:
1. 1) (HR) 2 canned food or $2 for dress down day tomorrow. Daily greeting routine. New enrichment vocabulary. 2) Character speed recognition. 3) Daily writing practice (sentences). 4) Class activity: read sentences #1-#10/12.
2. Pair activity: 1) Listening comprehension. 2) Practice oral exam questions (3-5 minutes). 3) Modeling? 4) Ms. Chang’s Q/A.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/24/14)

Objectives: 1) (5P) I can take a post-assessment to showcase my growth in Chinese. 2) (3P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese dragons, Chinese fengsui and Chinese meaning of colors. 3) I can know the importance of Chinese programs in America.
Homework: N/A
Procedure:
1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Aaron, Eric, Gavin, Weston; 5P: Noah, Alison, Scot P.). Go over 4 units of Chinese. 2) (5P) Post assessment. 3) Video: Dragons. 4) (3P) Culture reading: Chinese Feng Sui / Meaning of Colors.
2. Video clip: Chinese programs in American Schools.
