Procedures for 11/25/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (11/25/14)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently and accurately. 2) I can name / comprehend common school supplies. 3) (4P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese characters through viewing video clips. 4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.
Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. Know all 22 characters by Monday, 12/1/14. 2) Practice oral exam questions.
Procedure:
1. 1) (HR) Collect canned food / $2. Please bring in nonperishable food items for Yuletide Hunger Food Drive from 12/1-12/5. Daily greeting routine. 2) Teach new characters (知, 道, 概, 大概, 客, 气, 客人, 请客, 小). 3) Class activity: read sentences #10/11-#24.
2. 1) Listening activity: WB page 27 Section A. 2) Complete Section B. Go over answer key. Captains collect workbooks.
3. 1) (4P) Video clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK5vwxYus-A (Hello, China – Writing Brush, 毛笔, 2:09). 2) (1P / 8P) Oral exam modeling.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/25/14)

Objectives: 1) I can learn from peer’s art project presentation and slide show. 2) (5P) I can gain knowledge about extra-curricular school programs, cram schools, and cultural activities in China.
Homework: N/A
Procedure:
1. 1) (3P) Make flash cards. Showcase student art project samples / pictures. 2) Student work presentation. 3) Culture reading: Student life outside school / Cram schools / Extra-curricular School Program. 4) Game time: Follow the Leader / Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
