Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (11/18/14)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently and accurately. 2) I can identify common school supplies. 3) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.
Homework: 1) Review and practice reading pinyin sentences #1-#10. 2) Know 5 learned characters and know how to respond simple conversation questions by tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Makeup work (1P: Chris, Guenever; 4P: Eric C., Hanna H., Evan J., Carlos, Bonnie, Cameron, Joey; 8P: Kylee, Anthony). All retakes have to complete by next Monday, 11/24/14. Talk to Ms. Chang for details. 1) Go over common writing mistakes (谢, 马, 她, 啊, 乐). 2) Go over Lesson Five structures.
2. 1) Go over Review Sound1 assessment Checklist. 2) Speed recognition of Chinese characters. 3) Sounding out pinyin sentences #1-#5 & Conversation Q/A. 4) Teach pinyin sentences #6-#10. 5) Introduce Conversation question practice w/supplies bag + your own supplies.

4. Pair activity: 1) Oral exam questions. 2) Practice reading pinyin sentences #1-#10.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/18/14)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese table etiquette and international food and drink franchises in China. 3) I can have hands-on experiences of paying tangram pieces game.
Homework: Bring in your work to do for three days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return quiz #4 papers. Makeup quiz (3P: Luke; 5P: Scot P.). Read sentences #1-#10. 2) Culture reading: Chinese Mealtime Customs / Chinese table etiquette / International Food and Drink Franchises in China.
2. 1) Video clip: Chinese Table Etiquette. 2) Tangram piece game: Day 1 (continued) / Day 2.
