Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (11/4/14)

Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer questions about age and identity. 2) I can blend and discriminate vowels and consonants. 3) I can sight read text passages fluently.
Homework: 1) Review back nasal sounds handout. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Practice Lesson Four conversation questions. 4) Art lesson is rescheduled to Friday, 11/7/14. Wear something old and dark Friday, please. 5) Skit script / checklist due tomorrow. Presentation starts on Wednesday, too.
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Sit on your new seat, please. Return Chinese Club foam board / instruction sheet, etc. (Evan B., Evan J., Ethan M., Leon, Cameron, Joey, Kylie S., Jessy / Ben, Jeremy, Leon, Phoebe, Ada) report to Ms. Chang during 6A or 6B for your oral exam or other issue. 2) Captains check WB pages 23 (Section B)-24. Go over answer key. 3) Go over common writing mistakes (李, 早, 再, 明, 林). 4) Teach back nasal sounds handout sections 1-3. 5) Teach new characters (啊, 马, 克, 欢, 迎). 5) (1P) Sight read text passages on page 23.
2. 1) Go over Lessons 2-6 Conversation Questions handout. 2) (1P) Pair practice.


Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/4/14)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can understand Chinese counting principle. 3) I can have hands-on experience of making origami.
Homework: 1) Review counting principle handout. 2) Practice reading sentences #1-#3.
1. 1) Return quiz #2 papers. Makeup work (5P: Scot P., Vincent). 2) Go over Chinese counting principle handout. 3) Count out loud from #0-#100.
2. 1) Teach new terms (sui, jia, you, ge ren). 2) Write sentences #2-#3 and read sentences #1-#3.
3. Complete origami products.
