Procedures for 12/4/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (12/4/14)

 Objectives: 1) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently and accurately. 2) I can showcase my mastery of all vocabulary in lesson five. 3) I can use Chinese negative word, possessive particle, and confirmation question word in sentences to express myself.

Homework: 1) Practice reading pinyin sentences #1-#16. 2) Practice oral exam questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Collect canned food. Return WB. Captains check Lesson Six character definitions. 2) Class activity: read sentences #1-#10. 3) Teach sentences #11-#16. 4 ) Go over Lesson Five supplementary handout. 5) Lesson Five character quiz.
  2. Independent / pair activity: Grammar correction worksheet.

 

 Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/4/14)

Objectives: 1) I can say greeting terms in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese characters and Chinese calligraphy. 3) I can write simple Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Quiz #1: Monday, 12/15. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Review 2 learned characters and 6 greeting terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Signature slip is due today. Quick review (2 greeting terms). Makeup work (3P: Julia, Samantha, Natalie, Analina; 5P: Savannah, Rebecca). 2) Teach new terms (wo shi, lao shi, wu an, wan an). 3) Go over the structure of square paper. 4) Teach (mountain, tree).
  2. 1) Video clips: Chinese characters + mountain / tree + (5P) Chinese calligraphy. 2) (5P) Showcase Four Treasures of Study: brush pen, ink stick, ink stone, and xuan paper.
