Procedures for 12/5/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (12/5/14)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently and accurately. 2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 3) I can build a solid grammar foundation through reviewing sentence patterns.

Homework: 1) Practice reading pinyin sentences #1-#22. 2) Lesson Five oral exam: Monday, 12/8/14 at media center.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Collect canned food. (4P) Sign up for before / after school and 6P oral exam.   Return Lesson Five vocabulary quiz papers. Welcome to retake the quiz any time before the end of the second quarter. 2) Class activity: read sentences #1-16. 3) Teach sentences #17-#22.
  2. 1) Go over Grammar correction worksheet. 2) Go over Voki-Creation instruction handout. 3) oral exam modeling.

 

 Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/5/14)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms in Chinese. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can explore and have hands-on experience with cutting Chinese paper patterns. 4) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese characters, Chinese calligraphy and Chinese folk art of paper cuts.
Homework: 1) Quiz #1 (greetings): Monday, 12/15/14. Audio file was sent to your e-mail account on Thursday, 12/4/14. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Review 10 learned greeting terms + 4 Chinese characters.
Procedure:

1.   1) Return China reading packet.   (3P: Julia, Samantha, Natalie, Analina; 5P: Savannah, Rebecca) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Quick review (6 greeting terms + 2 Chinese characters). 2) Teach terms (Zao, Ni Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao). 3) Teach two characters (kou, shui).

2.   1) (3P) Video clip: Chinese calligraphy. Showcase the Four Treasures of the Study. 2) Video clip: Chinese paper Cut. Pass out and cut longevity + (5P) double happiness patterns.
