Procedures for 12/11/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (12/11/14)

Objectives: 1) (1P/8P) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently and accurately. 2) I can name family members and introduce my family. 3) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.

Homework: 1) Practice reading pinyin sentences #1-#22. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Family paragraph is due at the end of the class period tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.  1) Daily greeting routine. Return Lesson Five chapter test papers + character worksheet. Ask for a retake form (49.6) at the end of the class period. Go over common writing mistake (尺, 橡, 概, 那, 客). 2) Speed character recognition. 3) (1P/8P) Class activity: read sentences #1-#22.

2. 1) Teach new characters (家, 个, 有, 没, 和). 2) Go over Lesson Six conversation questions.  Pair practice.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/11/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms. 2) I can write simple Chinese number characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese early inventions, Chinese characters, silk and daily routine in Chinese schools.

Homework: 1) Review 26 greeting terms + 16 Chinese characters. 2) Quiz #2 (20 Chinese characters): Friday, 12/19/14.

Procedure:

1.  1) Quick review (21 greeting terms + 12 Chinese characters). 2) Teach new terms (dong le ma, dong le, bu dong, dui bu qi, mei guan qi). 3) Teach new characters (five, six, seven, eight).

2.  Video clips: (3P) sun/person / silk / My School; (5P) Compass / Paper / Gun Powder.
