Procedures for 1/14/15

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (1/14/15)

Objectives: 1) I can prepare for my mid-term exam through working on writing practice problems and question/answer session. 2) I can apply what I have learned to create a skit with a partner. 3) (1P) I can speed recognize characters accurately.

Homework: Writing / Listening Sections tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Seating arrangement for tomorrow. (2P: Evan J., Carlos, Mack, Alec) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Go over answer key to Grammar Corrections worksheet #3. Other questions? 3) (1P) Speed character recognition.
  2. While Ms. Chang conducts oral exam ó 1) Practice writing problems. 2) Practice oral exam, if you are not done yet. 3) Brainstorm skit idea with your partner.

 

 Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/14/15)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can showcase my mastery of colors in Chinese. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about traditional sports in China, 12 zodiac animals and the legend of giant panda. 4) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project through viewing art project samples.

Homework: Finish up your art project by Friday for Ms. Chang’s review, if you want to.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (11 colors). Return draft #2. Makeup work (3P: Natalie, Julia, Aidan, Sami, Pete, Analina, Jason; 5P: Jack, Patrick—take quiz #3 and quiz #4 by Friday, 1/16/15, Savannah, Sam). 2) Read sentences #1-#10. 3) Quiz #4.
  2. 1) Video clips: (5P) Chinese yo-yo / (3P / 5P) Chinese martial arts. 2) Culture reading: (3P) The Legend of Giant Panda / (5P) Zodiac Animals. 3) While Ms. Chang works with individual students with needs, try tangram worksheet activities should you choose to do so. You can work on other homework.
