Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (1/22/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can name animals & pets. 2) I can sight read characters accurately and fluently. 3) I can apply what I have learned to create a skit independently or in pairs. 4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 5) (8P) I can acquire knowledge about a study abroad program through a senior’s presentation.

Homework: 1) Finalize your skit over this weekend. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Practice conversation questions. 4) Skit script due on Wednesday, 1/28/15. 5) Speed character recognition quiz: Wednesday, 1/28/15.


  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (4P) Turn in your self-assessment and survey, please. 2) (1P/4P) Quick review. 3) (1P/4P) Teach new characters (鸟, 匹, 马, 条, 金, 鱼, 金子). 3) (1P/4P) Read text page 54. 4) (1P/4P) Speed character recognition.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/22/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) (5P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese martial arts weapons.

Homework: N/A


  1. 1) Ms. Chang takes turns calling on individual student to do oral presentation ó independent work: 1) Study hall time. 2) Read Chinese cookbooks. 3) Work on mind bender cube game or tangram pieces game.
  2. 1) Video clip: (5P) Chinese martial arts—weapons. 2) (3P) Chinese class roster. 3) Showcase pictures of your art project.
