Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (1/26/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can name and describe pets/animals. 2) I can sight read characters fluently and accurately. 3) (4P) I can create a skit independently or with a partner. 4) (8P) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Practice sight reading 1st semester Chinese characters. 3) Practice conversation questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Report to your Achieve 3000 classroom at 6P study hall time today. HS scheduling sessions at media center: Last name A-G: Tuesday, January 27th, H-M Wednesday, January 28th, N-S Thursday, January 29th , T-Z Friday, January 30th. Ms. Chang will write Chinese I if I do not feel comfortable that you move to Chinese 2 at 9th grade. 2) (1P/8P) Draw a number for your new seat from tomorrow. (4P) Sit on your new seat. 3) Quick review (matching / sight reading). 4) Character speed recognition. 5) Writing problem practice.
  2. 1) (1P/4P) Teach new characters (大, 小, 可, 爱, 可爱, 凶). (8P) Teach new characters (鸟, 匹, 马, 条, 金, 鱼, 金子).
  3. Pair activity: 1) Practice conversation questions. 2) Practice character speed recognition. 3) Finalize your skit.

 

  Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/26/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can complete a Student Inventory worksheet. 2) I can understand Ms. Chang’s
classroom rules and grading policy.
Homework: Signature slip due: Thursday, 1/29/15.
Procedures:

  1. 1) Sit on your assigned seat. 2) Go over team assignment. 3) Pass out Student Inventory worksheet. 4) (3P) Go over classroom routine-handouts / homework / supplies.
  2. Seat work: Go over and fill out the Student Inventory worksheet.
  3. 3. Pass out and go over Ms. Chang’s classroom rules.
