Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (1/30/15)

Objectives: 1) I can sing a popular French song in Chinese. 2) (1P) I can sharpen my listening skill through listening to audio files. 3) I can read Chinese text passages fluently and accurately. 4) I can understand how to prepare for my Lesson Seven chapter test.
Homework: 1) WB pages 42, 44 (Section D), and 45. 2) Present your skit on Monday, 2/2/15. 3) Pet paragraph is due today.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. 2) Quick review. 3) Go over chapter test study guide / conversation questions handout. 4) Read text pages 54-56. 5) Model Q/A.
2. 1) Go over lyrics and song time: Two Tigers. 2) (1P/4P) Video clip: Chinese dragon. 3) (1P) Listening activity.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/30/15)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms in Chinese. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) (5P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese paper cuts. 4) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese characters and Chinese calligraphy.
Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Review 10 learned greeting terms + 4 Chinese characters.
Procedure:
1. 1) An audio file will be sent to your e-mail account this afternoon. Makeup work (5P: Matt, Thomas, Jarrod, Chris, Ben). 2) Quick review (6 greeting terms + 2 Chinese characters). 3) Teach terms (Zao, Ni Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao). 4) Teach two characters (kou, shui).
2. 1) Video clips: Tree / mountain / (5P) Chinese paper Cut. 2) Showcase the Four Treasures of Study + (5P) Paper Cut work. 3) (5P) Pass out and cut out longevity.
