Procedures for 2/9/15

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (2/9/15)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about nationality and languages. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese traditions through viewing an authentic movie.

Homework: 1) Fill out movie unit story map daily. Due on Wednesday, 2/18/15. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Practice conversation questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Chinatown New Year celebration event, in a unique event space: 2/14-2/15 10 am-5pm at Asian Town Center. 2) Makeup work (1P: Guenever; 4P: Carlos, Kaitlyn; 8P: Matt, Maddie/Matt). (1P) Sign up for Chinese Club meeting at 6P today. Return chapter test papers / character worksheet. Captains check character definitions. 3) Go over common writing mistakes (马, 鸟, 狗, 猫, 金, 条) and mistakes in chapter test. Ask for retake application form after class, please. 4) Teach new characters (国, 国家, 中国/中国人, 美国/美国人, 英国/英国人, 哪, 国旗). .
  2. 1) (4P) Go over story map. 2) (1P/8P) Movie time.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/9/15)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms. 2) I can say and write simple Chinese number characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese characters, Chinese publications and Chinese tea.

Homework: 1) Quiz #1 (greeting terms): tomorrow. 2) Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

1.  1) Quick review (26 greeting terms + 14 Chinese characters). 2) Teach new characters (seven, eight, nine).

2.  1) Culture reading: Chinese characters + Chinese publications. 2) Showcase Chinese seals. 3) Video clip: Chinese tea.
