Procedures for 2/17/15

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (2/17/15)

Objectives: 1) I can sharpen my listening comprehension skill through viewing video/audio files. 2) I can talk about nationality. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese traditions through viewing an authentic movie. 4) I can review sentence patterns.

Homework: 1) Review learned 20 characters. 2) Fill out movie unit story map daily. Due on Thursday, 2/19/15. 3) Chinese character writing assignment. 4) Lesson Eight vocabulary quiz: Wednesday, 2/25/15. Lesson Eight oral exam: Thursday, 2/26/15. Lesson Eight chapter test: Monday, 3/2/15.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suaJQf7wlp8 (NBA球星Jeremy Lin 林書豪拜早年). Confucius Institute’s Chinese New Year celebration: Saturday, 2/28/15.. 2) Quick review. 3) Writing practice. 4) Go over scrambled sentences worksheet
  2. 1) Teach new characters (新, 西, 新年, 新西兰, 澳, 利, 亚, 澳大利亚). 2) Movie time.

 

 Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (2/17/15)

Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of 20 Chinese picture/number characters.   2) I can understand Chinese counting principle and I can count from zero to nine hundred ninety nine. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese tea house and Chinese meal time customs. 4) I can talk about myself in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Review Chinese counting principle. 2) Practice reading out loud sentences #1-#2.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (20 characters). 2) Count from zero to one hundred. Some challenging number questions. 3) Quiz #2.
  2. 1) Culture reading: Chinese tea house + Chinese Mealtime Customs. 2) Go over oral presentation handout. 3) Teach term (sui). 4) Write/read sentences #1-#2.
