Procedures for 2/18/15

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (2/18/15)

Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese traditions through viewing an authentic movie. 3) I can review my grammar and sentence patterns.

Homework: 1) Scramble Sentences worksheet #15-#21. 2) Movie unit story map due tomorrow. E-mail / share with Ms. Chang by the end of tomorrow. 3) Practice conversation questions. 4) Memorize two songs (Happy Chinese New Year / Two Tigers).

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Audio file for Chinese New Year’s song was e-mailed to you last night. Plans for the next two days?? 2) Quick review (20 characters). 3) (1P) Song time. 4) Movie time.
  2. 1) Read text pages 66-67. 2) Pair work: Conversation question practice + Scrambled sentences handout + Countries Around the World worksheet.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (2/18/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese mealtime customs and Chinese signature foods. 3) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project.

Homework: Practice reading sentences #1-#3.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return quiz #2 papers. Makeup work (3P: Taylor; 5P: Lea). 2) (3P) Culture reading: Chinese Mealtime Customs. 2) Video clips: Dumplings / Roast Duck / Noodles / (3P) Hot Pot. 3) Teach new terms (jia, you, ge ren). 4) Write sentence #3. Read sentences #1- #3.
  2. 1) Pass out / go over art project requirements. 2) (5P) Showcase one PPT art project sample.
