Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (3/30/15)

Objectives: 1) I can name body parts in Chinese. 2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese traditions through viewing an authentic movie.
Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Practice conversation questions.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. DC trip meeting at your study hall time today. (8P) Draw a number for your 4th quarter seat. 2) Quick review. 3) (1P) Overview of Lesson Ten. 4) Teach new characters (长, 短, 嘴巴, 下巴, 凶巴巴, 朋友, 友好, 好朋友, 老朋友, 小朋友, 男朋友, 女朋友).
2. 1) (1P/4P) Conversation questions practice. 2) Movie time.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (3/30/15)

Objectives: 1) I can count numbers from zero to nine hundred ninety nine in Chinese. 2) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese early inventions and finger guessing game. 4) I can have fun playing finger guessing game.
Homework: Practice saying sentences #1-#2.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return quiz #2 papers. Makeup quiz (3P: Mitchell; 5P: Dylan G.) 2) Quick review (numbers 0-999). 3) Count from zero to one hundred.
2. 1) Pass out and go over Oral presentation handout. 2) Teach terms (sui). 3) Construct sentences #1-#2. 4) Practice saying sentences #1-#2.
3. 1) Culture reading: Finger Guessing Game / Lucky and unlucky numbers / Early Chinese inventions. 2) Video clip: gun powder. 3) Class activity: Finger Guessing Tournament.
