Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (4/14/15)


Objectives: 1) I can play interactive games and conduct an unrehearsed conversation with a classmate to measure my growth in Chinese learning. 2) I can write about my physical appearance. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese phrases and signature artifacts through viewing cultural enrichment video clips.

Homework: 1) Complete your Zaption games (15 points, 20%) & submit your and your partner’s audio recording (10 points, 20%) by the end of class period). 2) Physical description paragraph (20 points, 20%) is due by the end of tomorrow, 4/14/15.


  1. 1) (science foundation students, if you will not be in class on Friday, please take your quiz in class on Thursday. (4P) Joey, Liliana, Kaitlyn, Eric W., Jeremy, Ben, and Leon, please see Ms. Chang for your individual instructions. 2) Sign-in your Zaption account by going to 2) Check your e-mail account for links to the video tours that you need to watch the video and submit your responses online.
  2. 1) Take a headset, a microphone, and get a prompt slip from Ms. Chang. Click audacity from desktop or from All Programs, please. Test your microphone to make sure it works before you make recording between you and your partner. Name your mp3 file with your and your partner’s last name. After you’re done, drag (or copy) your file to O drive, chang folder, and then depending on your class period, 2014-2015MS1P / 2014-2015MS 4P / 2014-2015MS8P respectively.
  3. Type your 10-sentence paragraph and Google Docs share with Ms. Chang by the end of tomorrow.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (4/14/15)


Objectives: 1) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project through viewing sample project pictures. 2) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 3) I can name colors in Chinese. 4) I can utilize website utilities to learn speaking and writing Chinese. 5) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese yo-yo, Chinese martial arts, and legend about Chinese pandas.

Homework: 1) Brainstorm ideas for your art project. 2) Review learned colors. 3) Practice reading sentences #1-#7.


  1. 1) Quick review (colors). 2) Teach new terms (lan se, lv se, zong se, zi se). 3) Teach new terms (zhu zhi). Review address format. 4) Write sentence #7. 5) Read sentences #1-#7. 6) Introduce / pinyin table websites.
