Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (4/16/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about and write about my best friend. 2) I can write a paragraph to introduce myself.

Homework: 1) Lesson Ten oral exam: Tuesday, 4/21/15. Lesson Ten chapter test: Wednesday, 4/22/15. 2) Body parts / friend slides are due by the end of Tuesday, 4/21/15. 3) Practice conversation questions. 4) Friend paragraph due tomorrow. 5) WB pages 63 / 66. 6) IPA writing task is due at the end of class.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Return all body parts description paragraph checklists. (1P: Alena, Chris, Jaeyoung, Maddie; 4P: Kylie V., Cameron, Evan J., Kaitlyn, Evan B., Liliana; 8P: Jareth, Jonathan, Adelyn, Ada) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Go over Lesson Ten chapter test study guide / PPT slides checklist.
  2. 1) IPA presentational writing task. 2) If time is available, continue with the task of writing four sentences (name, age, grade, and physical description) about your friend.

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese zodiac animals. 3) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project through viewing art project samples.

Homework: Quiz #4: tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (11 colors). 2) Pass out and go over sports and animals supplementary handouts. Questions? 3) Write sentences #9-#10. 4) Read sentences #8-#10. Collect draft #2.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Paragraph is due by the end of today. 3) Lesson Ten vocabulary quiz: Monday, 4/20/15.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Find out your classroom for your Social Studies tomorrow. Make use of checklist for your body parts description paragraph. Stomach virus is around at MS building. Wash your hands and use wipes to clean your desk, please. (8P) Jonathan talks to Ms. Chang, please. Turn in your physical description checklist, please. 2) Quick review. 3) Writing practice.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences #1-#8. 2) Finalize your art project theme / medium.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Stomach virus is around at MS building. Wash your hands and use wipes to clean your desk, please. Quick review (8 colors). 2) Teach new terms (hui se, cheng se, fen hong se, xi huan). 3) Write sentence #8. 4) Read sentences #1-#8.
  2. 1) Video clip: Chinese zodiac animals. 2) Showcase current art project PPT samples / pictures of previous art project samples.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (4/14/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can play interactive games and conduct an unrehearsed conversation with a classmate to measure my growth in Chinese learning. 2) I can write about my physical appearance. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese phrases and signature artifacts through viewing cultural enrichment video clips.

Homework: 1) Complete your Zaption games (15 points, 20%) & submit your and your partner’s audio recording (10 points, 20%) by the end of class period). 2) Physical description paragraph (20 points, 20%) is due by the end of tomorrow, 4/14/15.

Procedure:

  1. 1) (science foundation students, if you will not be in class on Friday, please take your quiz in class on Thursday. (4P) Joey, Liliana, Kaitlyn, Eric W., Jeremy, Ben, and Leon, please see Ms. Chang for your individual instructions. 2) Sign-in your Zaption account by going to www.zaption.com/signup. 2) Check your e-mail account for links to the video tours that you need to watch the video and submit your responses online.
  2. 1) Take a headset, a microphone, and get a prompt slip from Ms. Chang. Click audacity from desktop or from All Programs, please. Test your microphone to make sure it works before you make recording between you and your partner. Name your mp3 file with your and your partner’s last name. After you’re done, drag (or copy) your file to O drive, chang folder, and then depending on your class period, 2014-2015MS1P / 2014-2015MS 4P / 2014-2015MS8P respectively.
  3. Type your 10-sentence paragraph and Google Docs share with Ms. Chang by the end of tomorrow.
