Procedures for 5/12/15

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (5/12/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can write about my preferences of food and drinks, and skills of holding chopsticks and cooking. 2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 3) I can sight read characters and text passages fluently and accurately. 4) I can prepare for my upcoming assessments.

Homework: 1) Skit presentation: Thursday, 5/14/15. Lesson Eleven vocabulary quiz: Monday, 5/18/15. Lesson Eleven chapter test oral exam: Tuesday, 5/21/15. Lesson Eleven chapter test: Wednesday, 5/20/15. Year-end PPT printout and checklist are due on Friday, 5/22/15. 2) WB pages 73/76. 3) Google Docs shares with Ms. Chang your (food/drink/chopsticks holding skills/cooking skill) paragraph by the end of tonight.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Turn in your skit print out / checklist & culture exit slips / brochures for bonus points. Return exit slips. (4P) Sign up your time for taking speed character recognition test tomorrow. 2) Quick review. 3) Conversation question Q/A. 4) (1P) Writing practice. 5) Read text passages on pages 93-95.
  2. 1) Seat work: (1P) type up your paragraph of preferences of food and drinks, holding chopstick and cooking skills. Due at the end of tonight. 2) Pair work: skit preparation / character recognition / conversation questions / WB assignment.

 


Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (5/12/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say, comprehend and write simple Chinese number characters.   2) I can gain cultural knowledge about tea culture. 3) I can have fun playing finger guessing game in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Review 20 learned characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (18 characters). 2) Teach new terms (hundred, zero). Collect writing assignment. 3) Audio file / video clip: Chinese numbers / Chinese tea culture.
  2. Showcase Chinese tea sets and various tea leaves.
