Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (5/14/15)

Objectives: 1) I can present a skit independently or with a partner. 2) (1P/4P) I can comprehend conversation dialogue. 3) I can prepare for my chapter test.
Homework: 1) Practice conversation questions. 2) Study for your Lesson Eleven vocabulary quiz.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Makeup work—character recognition (1P: Grace, Chris, Guenever; 4P: Kerry, Cameron, Joey; 8P: Charlie, Ada, Maddie, Maggie, Anthony) report to Ms. Chang at 6P today. Cross-section skit presentation will be during 6P. Interest in attending Asian Festival this weekend? Ask for a card, please. 2) Captains check WB pages 69/77/79. Go over answer key. 3) Quick review. 4) Skit presentation (4P: Eric C./Eric W.; Megan/Julia; Hanna/Alec; Jessy/Cameron; Emily/Kylie S.; Ethan M./Jack).

Objectives: 1) I can count from zero to one hundred. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese early inventions. 3) I can explore origami. 4) I can talk about myself in Chinese.
Homework: 1) Practice sentences #1-#2. 2) Review Chinese counting principle.
Procedure:
1. 1) (3P) Return papers. Makeup work (3P: Hailey, Piper; 5P: 8th graders—writing + paper patterns). 2) Count from zero to one hundred. Pass out quiz #3 papers for review. 2) Go over oral presentation handout. 3) Teach (sui). Write sentences #1-#2. 4) Read sentences #1-#2.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Makeup work—skit (1P: Alena, Christy; 4P: Liliana, Ethan P. / Evan J., Joey, Ethan M. / Jack). 2) Captains check on WB pages 73/76. Go over answer key. 3) Teach characters (柠檬, 莱姆, 柠檬汁, 柠檬水, 片, 名片, 鸡片, 肉片, 生鱼片, 炸, 虾, 龙虾, 炸鸡, 炸鱼片,炸虾片).

Objectives: 1) I can understand Chinese counting principle. 2) I can count from zero to one hundred in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese finger guessing game and lucky and lucky numbers. 3) I can explore Chinese finger guessing game.

Homework: 1) Review Chinese counting principle. 2) Review 20 characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return writing assignment. Makeup work (3P: Niko/Annie, Piper, Hailey—quiz + writing; 5P: 8th grade + patterns). Quick review (12 number characters). 2) Go over Chinese counting principle / number table. 3) Counting from zero to one hundred.
  2. 1) Culture reading: Chinese Lucky and unlucky numbers / Finger Guessing Game. 2) Game time. 3) Pass out colored papers for origami tomorrow.

Objectives: 1) I can write about my preferences of food and drinks, and skills of holding chopsticks and cooking. 2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 3) I can sight read characters and text passages fluently and accurately. 4) I can prepare for my upcoming assessments.

Homework: 1) Skit presentation: Thursday, 5/14/15. Lesson Eleven vocabulary quiz: Monday, 5/18/15. Lesson Eleven chapter test oral exam: Tuesday, 5/21/15. Lesson Eleven chapter test: Wednesday, 5/20/15. Year-end PPT printout and checklist are due on Friday, 5/22/15. 2) WB pages 73/76. 3) Google Docs shares with Ms. Chang your (food/drink/chopsticks holding skills/cooking skill) paragraph by the end of tonight.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Turn in your skit print out / checklist & culture exit slips / brochures for bonus points. Return exit slips.
