Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (5/15/15)

Objectives: 1) (1P) I can sing songs in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese cooking. 3) (1P/8P) I can know story about a Chinese dancer through viewing an authentic movie. 4) (1P/4P) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 5) (4P/8P) I can comprehend dialogues.
Homework: Lesson Eleven vocabulary quiz: Monday, 5/18/15; Lesson Eleven oral exam: Tuesday, 5/19/15; Lesson Eleven chapter test: Wednesday, 5/20/15. Year-end PPT printout and checklist are due on Friday, 5/22/15.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Return papers / WB. 2) Culture reading: text pages (1P) 100—(1P / 4P / 8P) 101. 3) Skit presentation (1P: Grace / Olivia; Phoebe; Jaeyoung / Adelyn; Alena / Maddie P.; Christy / Hanna H.; 4P: Ethan P. / Evan B.; Joey) / video presentation (Kylie V./Maddie; Caroline/Ada; Jareth/David; Ethan M./Jack). 4) (1P / 4P) Conversation questions Q/A modeling.
2. 1) (1P) Song time: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes / Ten Little Friends / How Are You? 3) Movie time.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (5/15/15)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese early invention and family structure. 3) I can explore origami.
Homework: 1) Quiz #2: Monday, 5/18/15. 2) Quiz #3 (Connecting the Dots): Wednesday, 5/20/15.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (20 characters). 2) Teach terms (jia, you, ge ren). 3) Write sentence #3. 4) Read sentences #1-#3.
2. 1) Culture reading: Chinese Family Size / Addressing Family Members. 2) Video: gun powder / compass. 3) Origami time.
