Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (8/25/15)


Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend greeting terms / classroom expressions. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese language and characters.

Homework: 1) School supplies / Chinese name writing assignment are due tomorrow. 2) Review 11 phrases (greeting terms / classroom expressions / Review Sections I and II in “Introduction to Chinese Language and Characters” handout.


  1. 1) Opening routine. Reward to the students who scored 6 out of 6 yesterday. Get a copy of Introduction to Chinese Language and Characters. Picture Day: Thursday. 3P students follow Ms. Chang to the gym before 9:55 am with your money (receipt) / order form from their back-to-school money. 2) Any signature slip? It is due today. (8P) Get a netbook, turn on and log on to your e-mail account. 3) Label your marker and sock in the zipper bag. Ms. Chang passes out your textbook. Please sign in the Textbook Inventory sheet. Update your school supplies record. (8P) Make a folder in your e-mail account).
  2. 1) Quick quick (6 classroom expressions). 2) Review / Teach new greeting expression terms (ni hao, ni shi, wo shi, lao shi, lao shi hao, zuo xia).
  3. 1) Speaking time: 11 terms. 2) Go over Introduction to Chinese Language and Characters.




Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (8/25/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend Chinese greeting terms / classroom expressions.   2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can understand the requirement of completing China reading packet.

Homework: 1) Review 8 learned terms & 3 Chinese characters. 2) Complete character writing assignment.


  1. 1) Any signature slip? It is due today. 2) Review 5 learned greeting terms. 3) Teach 3 new greeting terms (Zai Jiang, Wu An, Wan An).
  2. 1) Video time: Review learned Chinese character (山 / 口). 2) Teach one Chinese character (木, 山 / 口). 3) Pass out / Go over China reading packet.
