Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (8/28/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend simple Chinese greeting terms. 2) I can gain political and cultural knowledge about China.

Homework: Review 29 learned greeting terms / classroom expressions. 2) Zhen Bang China reading packet is due on Monday, 8/31/15. 3) Quiz #1 (memorizing and writing Your Chinese name): Monday, 8/31/15.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Get a set of handout, please. Make sure you have your PB password for VC activity on next Monday. Return your first / old China reading packet. Confirm Open House attendance. Surprise will be passed out next Monday. (3P: Nate, Liam, Kaitlyn) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) An audio file will be sent to your e-mail account over the weekend. Please listen to it for accurate pronunciation. 3) Introduce culture event (Night Market in Cleveland), http://www.nightmarketcle.com/
  2. 1) Quick review (24 terms). 2) Teach new terms (zai jian, ming tian jian, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi).
  3. 1) Go over 2nd China reading packet. 2) Seat work time / Review time / Speaking time.

 

 


Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (8/28/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend simple Chinese greeting terms. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese folk art of cutting papers. Homework: 1) Review 20 learned greeting terms / classroom expressions.   2) Review 7 Chinese picture characters. 3) Complete Chinese character writing assignment (7 picture characters). Collect on Monday, 8/31/15 when the last character is taught.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of handout, please. Confirm parent attendance of open house last night. 2) Quick review (17 terms + 5 characters). 3) Teach 3 new terms (xie xie, bu xie, bu ke qi)
  2. 1) Teach 2 picture characters (ri, ren). 2) Video time: Chinese paper-cut. 3) Pass out / go over paper-cut patterns.
