Procedures for 9/15/15

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (9/15/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can blend and discriminate consonants, vowels, and tones. 2) I can understand Chinese counting principle. 3) (3P) I can gain cultural knowledge about the autonomous region of Xinjiang in China.

Homework: 1) Practice sounding out numbers from zero to one hundred. Get fluent in 2-digit numbers. 2) Review (iu, ui) sections. 3) Complete Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Return quiz #2 papers. Data analysis of test result. 2) Reading (telephone number) + Dictation (phone number + uai / iao sections). 3) Teach compound vowels (iu, ui) sections. 4) Teach (nine, ten, hundred, zero).
  2. 1) Review Chinese counting principle. 2) Counting from zero to one hundred. 3) (3P) Video clip: Xinjiang. 4) Pair activity: converting numbers between zero and one hundred in Chinese and English + telephone number dictation.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (9/15/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can count from zero to one hundred in Chinese.   2) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 3) I can explore origami.

Homework: 1) Quiz #1 tomorrow. 2) Practice speaking sentences #1-#4.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review counting principle (matching). 2) Counting from zero to one hundred. 3) Teach new terms (jia, you, ge ren, baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, he, liang). 4) Write sentences #3-#4. 5) Read sentences #1-#4.
  2. Origami: work on product #2.
