Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (9/9/15)

Objectives: 1) I can blend and discriminate consonants, vowels and tones. 2) I can sound out syllables, and greeting terms / classroom expressions. 3) I can do telephone number dictation precisely.
Homework: 1) Review ua, uo, üe sections. 2) Practice sounding out loud syllables, greeting terms / classroom expressions. 3) Prepare a pair of ear buds for Friday’s activities. 4) Quiz #3 (numbers): Friday, 9/18/15.
Procedure:
1. 1) Opening routine. 2) Dictation (compound vowels + 4 numbers).
2. 1) Teach (3P) ua / uo sections / (8P) teach üe section. 2) Round robin reading: Pronounce syllables, greeting terms and classroom expression.
3. Pair practice time.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (9/9/15)

Objectives: 1) I can comprehend / write simple Chinese number characters. 2) I can understand Chinese counting principle. 3) (7P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese school system.
Homework: 1) Review 20 Chinese characters + Chinese counting principle. 2) Quiz 1 (50 points): Connecting the Dots: Wednesday, 9/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Take one copy of number table handout. 2) Quick review (8 picture + 10 number characters). 3) Teach (zero, hundred). Collect writing assignment on Friday, 9/11/15.
2. 1) Go over Chinese counting principle. 2) Audio file (1-3, 3-1, 1-7, 7-1) + video (Chinese number rapping). 4) (7P) Culture reading: Chinese school system.
