Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (10/7/15)


Objectives: 1) I can greet people in Chinese and in a culturally appropriate manner. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about greetings, Chinese names and the way to address teachers.

Homework: 1) Complete Chinese character writing assignment.   2) Chapter test simulation tomorrow. 3) Exit slip on textbook pages 13-15.


  1. 1) Opening routine. (3P: Katie, Siena, Serena, Liam, Luke, Daniel, Heesung, Adam, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Mark, Suzie, Scott, Jackson, Ryan; 8P: Conor, Julia, Leah, Kevin W., Kevin R., Oliver, Parker, Alex, George) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Return Quiz #5 papers. 2) Quick review (你, 您, 我, 好, 是, 他, 她, 再, 见, 明, 天, 早, 同, 学, 们, 老, 师, 林). 3) Listening practice. Go over answer key. 4) Writing practice.
  2. 1) Go over Lessons One / Two chapter test study guide. Showcase Chinese publications. 2) Teach new characters (白, 大, 伟, 李, 兰). 3) Write an exit slip (2 questions) from reading textbook pages 13-15 and review your virtual classroom activity.





Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (10/7/15)


Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend simple Chinese greeting terms. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can understand how Chinese characters developed over the years through viewing video clips.

Homework: 1) Signature slip is due tomorrow. Test #1 (Greeting Terms /Classroom Expression): Monday, 10/19/15. 2) Review 9 Greeting terms. 3) Complete writing assignment. 4) Know your ProgressBook password.


  1. 1) Get a copy of handout (20 Chinese characters). Any signature slip? Makeup work (7P: Christian) talks to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian). 3) Teach new greeting terms (Lao Shi, Lao Shi Hao, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao).
  2. 1) Pass out / go over square paper. 2) Go over the structure of Chinese 20 Chinese characters handout. 3) Teach Chinese characters (山, 口). 4) Video clips: (mountain, mouth, and fish).
