Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (10/1/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can blend and discriminate consonants, vowels and tones accurately and proficiently. 2) I can greet teachers, classmates and friends in a culturally appropriate way. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese language and writing systems.

Homework: 1) Complete Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Review (ing) section. 3) 4 comprehension questions are due by the end of Friday.


  1. 1) Opening routine. Test #2 data Analysis. Quick review (我, 你, 是, 好, 您). 2) Dictation (ang, eng). 3) Teach (ing) section. 4) Teach new characters (再, 见, 早, 明, 天, 她, 他).
  2. (3P) 1) Read text passages on pages 20 / Read Lesson Three character list. 2) Go over events on October calendar.
  3. Independent / Pair activity: read text pages 1-6 and generate 4 comprehension questions.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (10/1/15)

 Objectives: 1) I can create an art project with what I have learned in class.   2) I can gain cultural knowledge about the meanings of Chinese colors. 3) (7P) I can assess my growth in Chinese language learning.

Homework: N/A.


  1. 1) Update of art project. 2) (7P) Post-assessment.
  2. While Ms. Chang checks on students’ progress on art progress, students can 1) play puzzles and 2) work on other assignments.
  3. Culture reading: Meaning of Chinese colors.
