Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (11/20/15)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read characters and pinyin sentences accurately and fluently. 2) I can prepare my chapter test through review activities. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Four Treasures of Study. 4) I can create a skit independently or in pairs.
Homework: 1) Test #5 (Review Sounds2): Monday, 11/23/15. 2) Turn in your skit checklist & script printout on Monday, 11/23/15. 3) Virtual classroom activity (Four Treasures of Study) is due on Monday, 11/23/15. Culture reading comprehension questions are due by the end of today!
Procedure:
1. 1) Opening routine. Take one netbook, turn it on, activate a browser and set it aside. 2) Speed character recognition. 3) Quick review (sentences #13-#22). 4) Oral conversation modeling. 5) Writing practice.
2. 1) Listening comprehension check. 2) Seat work: a) independent work—virtual classroom activity (Four Treasures of Study) + b) Pair work—culture reading comprehension questions (pages 41-42) + skit.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (11/20/15)

Objectives: 1) I can write simple Chinese characters. 2) I can gain geographical and cultural knowledge about China. 3) I can work on a China reading packet.
Homework: 1) Review 13 learned greeting terms & 6 learned Chinese characters. 2) Complete Chinese characters writing assignment. 3) China reading packet is due by the end of Monday, 11/23/15.
Procedure:
1. 1) (6P: 2 projects from Mrs. Cerrato did not have a name on them. Please claim it). Take one netbook, turn it on and activate a browser. Set it aside. 2) Quick review 13 learned greeting terms & 4 characters. 3) Teach 2-3 new characters (火, 水, 月).
2. 1) Video time: Introduction to China. 2) Independent work / Pair work: Chinese reading packet.
