Procedures for 12/4/15

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (12/4/15)

 

Objectives: 1) (8P) I can introduce my family. 2) I can sight read all learned Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Family paragraph writing assignment is due on Friday, 12/11/15. 2) Lesson Six vocabulary quiz: Monday, 12/14/15. Lesson Six oral exam starts from Tuesday, 12/15/15. 3) Lesson Six chapter test: Thursday, 12/17/15. 4) Mid-term exam: (writing, listening) Thursday, 1/7/16 and (MC—reading, culture, grammar) Friday, 1/8/16. Oral exam starts from Monday, 1/11/16. 5) Read textbook pages 47 and bottom of 48.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Any family pictures? Take one netbook, turn it on, activate a browser and set aside. View field trip pictures. 2) Character speed recognition.
  2. (3P) 1) Return character worksheet and chapter test papers. 2) Go over common writing mistakes. 3) View community service project pictures. Brainstorm ideas for next year (2/13/16).
  3. 1) Teach new characters (家, 有, 没, 个, 和).
  4. (8P) Go over Family Paragraph Writing Assignment.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 6P / 7P (12/4/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can review for my test.   2) I can write Chinese number characters. 3) I can explore origami.

Homework: 1) Test #1: Monday, 12/7/15. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Review 20 Chinese characters + greetings.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (17 characters) + test simulation (greeting terms + classroom expressions). 2) Teach 3 characters (shi, ling, bai). Collect.
  2. 1) Pass out colored papers. 2) Origami time.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (12/3/15)

 

Objectives: 1) (8P) I can name simple Chinese family members. 2) (3P) I can showcase my mastery of Lesson Five materials.

Homework: 1) (8P) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) (3P) Know all six Chinese characters by tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routines. Captains check Lesson Six character definitions. Turn in family picture, please.
  2. (3P) 1) Turn in Lesson Five character worksheet. 2) Lesson Five chapter test. 3) Return skit checklist.
  3. (8P) 1) Return chapter test and character worksheet. 2) Go over common writing mistakes. 3) Teach (爸, 妈, 哥, 弟, 姐, 妹). 4) Introduce MS 3rd annual community service project at County Library at Brecksville Branch on 2/13/15. Showcase pictures from previous years’ project. Brainstorm ideas, please.

Homework: 1) Lesson Six character definitions is due tomorrow. 2) (3P) Study your chapter test. 3) (3P) Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

1. 1) Opening routine. (3P) Take one netbook, turn it on, and activate a browser, and set aside. (8P) Turn in your Lesson Five character worksheet. Makeup work (3P: Justin, Ryan, Daniel, Liam, Suzie, Kaitlyn—skit / Justin, Liam, Derrick, Ryan, Daniel, Suzie, Zachary, Scott, Jackson, Camille, Kaitlyn—oral exam in class; 8P: George, Hailey). 2) Return skit papers.

Homework: 1) Review 26 terms + 17 characters. 2) Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Teach 3 terms (dui bu qi, mei quan xi, tong xue men hao). 2) Teach 3 characters (qi, ba, jiu).
  2. 1) Chopsticks practice. 2) Video clips: Chinese holidays—Chinese New Year.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (12/1/15)

 

Objectives: 1) I can present a skit that I created independently or with a partner. 2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 3) I can prepare for my chapter test.

Homework: 1) Turn in a family photo / digital picture (10 points) by Friday, 12/11/15. 2) Lesson Five chapter test: (3P): Thursday, 12/3/15. (8P) Wednesday, 12/2/15. 3) Turn in Lesson Five character worksheet on (3P) Thursday/(5P) Wednesday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Oral exam needs to be completed by the end of tomorrow. 2) Skit presentation.
  2. While Ms. Chang conducts oral exam, you can 1) study multiple choice questions for culture knowledge, 2) practice writing problems, and 3) warm up conversation questions.

Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend simple Chinese greeting terms / classroom expressions and Chinese characters.   2) I can write simple Chinese number characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese chopsticks / calligraphy.

Homework: 1) Review 23 terms & 14 Chinese characters. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Test #1: Monday, 12/7/15. Test #2: Friday, 12/11/15.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (16 terms + 11 characters). 2) Teach 4 terms (qi li, jing li, zuo xia, qing zuo). 3) Teach 3 characters (si, wu, liu).
  2. 1) Video clip: (6P) Chopsticks / (7P) Chinese calligraphy. 2) (7P) Showcase artifacts (four treasures of study.
