Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (1/29/16)

 

Objectives: I can showcase my mastery of Lesson Seven materials.

Homework: Lesson Eight character definitions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Take a copy of Lesson Eight character worksheet. Turn in your Lesson Seven character worksheet. Questions?

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Quick review of all learned Lesson Seven characters. 2) Clarify a few misconceptions.

Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions. 2) I can write simple Chinese number characters. 3) I can explore Chinese folk art of paper cutting.    

Homework: 1) Review all 26 learned terms and 11 Chinese characters. 2) Complete paper-cut patterns, if not done in class.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return 8 picture character writing assignment. Take one copy of double happiness paper-cut pattern. Makeup work (Mario, Lana, Miranda, Cassidy). Quick review (terms + 8 characters). 2) Teach new terms (dong le ma, dong le, bu dong, dui bu qi, mei guan xi). 3) Teach (一, 二, 三)
  2. Complete two paper-cut patterns.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Take a netbook, turn it on, and set aside. Captains check Grammar Corrections / Unscrambled Sentences worksheet. Announce Chinese New Year celebration even at CSU. 2) Skit presentation (3P: James + Luke). 4) Go over Grammar corrections / Unscrambled sentences worksheet.

Announce Chinese New Year celebration event at CSU. 2) Quick review (16 terms / 6 characters). 3) Teach terms (qi li, jing li, qing zuo, quo xia, tong xue men hao). 4) Teach characters (日, 月). Collect writing assignment papers.

Homework: 1) 2 VCs (Pets in China, Reading Comprehension) are due by the end of tonight. 2) Grammar corrections / Unscrambled sentences worksheet and 1 VC (writing practice) are due tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Take a netbook, turn it on, activate a browser, and set aside. 2) Go over textbook page 61. 3) Writing practice. 4) Conversation modeling. 5) Complete skit presentation (3P: Mark, Derrick)
  2. Seat work: 1) Grammar Corrections / Scrambled Sentences Worksheet. 2) Conversation question practice. 3) VC: listening activity (due today).

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Take one copy of Lesson Seven Grammar Corrections and Unscrambled Sentences worksheet. Take a netbook, turn it on, activate a browser, and set aside. Make sure that Ms. Chang signs your 9th grade schedule worksheet by Friday. (3P: Liam) talks to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Share feedback from the Reflection on Midterm Exam.
  2. 1) Go over lesson seven chapter test study guide. 2) Skit presentation.

Lesson Six chapter test study guide and a list of culture comprehension questions will be e-mailed to you over the weekend. 2) Read text passages on page 61. 3) Go over Animals handout. 4) Video clips: Chinese zodiac animals / 马虎。

Procedure:
