Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (1/19/16)

 Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer questions about pets. 2) I can talk about my family pets or dream pets.  3) I can create a skit independently or with a partner by applying what I have learned in class.   4) I can prepare for my speed character recognition quiz.

Homework: 1) Speed character recognition quiz: tomorrow. 2) Reflection on Midterm Exam is due by the end of tomorrow (VC). 3) Self-assessment of 2nd Learning Objections is due by the end of tomorrow (check your e-mail for the link).


  1. 1) Opening routine. Take one netbook. Turn it on and set aside. Check your e-mail for self-assessment form. Go over possible starting point for Speed Character Recognition quiz. Inform Ms. Chang of your skit partner’s name. 2) Quick review. 3) Speed character recognition modeling (?). 3) Teach new sentence pattern (吗 = V + not V)
  2. 1) Go over pet paragraph handout. 2) Go over Lesson Seven conversation questions.
  3. Pair work: 1) Skit. 2) Conversation question practice. 3) Speed character recognition practice. 4) Write your pet paragraph. 5) VC: Reflection on Midterm Exam. 6) Self-Assessment of 2nd Quarter Learning Objectives.



 Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 7P (1/19/16)


Objectives: 1) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and routine. 2) I can work on a student survey.

Homework: Signature slip due on Friday, 1/22/16.


  1. 1) Sit on your assigned seat. 2) Check your team assignment. 3) Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom (handouts/homework/supplies) / opening routine + daily blog.
  2. 1) Please take a netbook (same number as your class number), turn it on, and set aside. 2) Pass out / Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom rule. 2) Work on Student Survey.
