Procedures for 2/29/16

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (2/29/16)

Objectives: 1) I can understand the requirements for Lessons 8 and 9 skit. 2) I can talk about my favorite sports in Chinese. 3) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.
Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Practice conversation questions.
Procedure:
1. 1) Opening routine. Makeup work (3P: Derrick, Liam, Heesung, Ryan; 8P: Julia) report to Ms. Chang at 6P E/I, please. (3P: Daniel, Mark, Derrick, Scott, Luke) talk to Ms. Chang after class, please. The ones who finished crossword puzzle will a little treat tomorrow. 2) Quick review. Write your opinions about station activities. Turn in at the end of class period. 3) Go over Lessons 8 and 9 skit checklist. 4) Go over conversation questions. 5) Teach (骑, 车, 骑马, 骑车, 动车, 打车 = 叫车, 最, 乒乓球, 桌子, 桌子, 士兵).
2. Seat work: 1) Conversation question practice. 2) Survey time. Collect. 3) Skit brainstorm session.

Objectives: 1) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and routine. 2) I can work on a student survey.
Homework: Signature slip due on Friday, 2/4/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Sit on your assigned seat. 2) Check your team assignment. 3) Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom (handouts/homework/supplies) / opening routine + daily blog.
2. 1) Please take a netbook (same number as your class number), turn it on, and set aside. 2) Pass out / Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom rule. 3) Work on Student Survey.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (2/26/16)

Objectives: I can review Chinese through 10-station activities.
Homework: Movie unit Story Map / Comprehension Questions are due by the end of tonight.
Procedure:
1. 1) Opening routine. 2) Your folder will be passed out to you. Get a netbook, log in and set aside for dictation and cross word puzzle activities. Get your ear buds ready. 2) Rotate to 8 stations, fetch a task bag (if any). Complete 10 tasks. Have Ms. Chang stamps tasks that you complete. 3) Turn in your folder at the end of the class period.

Objectives: 1) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese zodiac, legend of giant pandas, martial arts and fast food in China through viewing video clips and culture reading. 2) I can understand the importance of learning a world language by viewing relevant video clips. 3)
Homework: N/A
Procedure:
1. 1) Switch to Exploratory German on next Monday, 2/29/16. 2) Video clips: Chinese zodiac / martial arts (bare hands) / martial arts (with weapons) / Chinese number rapping.
2. 1) Promoting world language learning video clips: barking fish / bilingual cats / Be tough / Chinese language programs in American Schools. 2) Culture reading: Fast food in China / The Legend of Giant Pandas.

Objectives: 1) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese Lantern Festival. 2) I can sharpen my listening comprehension skill through viewing an authentic movie. 3) (3P) I can prepare myself for fun activities on this Friday.

Homework: 1) Fill in your movie unit story map / comprehension questions. 2) Know all 5 characters by tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Take one copy of Lessons 8 & 9 Skit Checklist. 2) (Liam, Oliver) report to Ms. Chang at 6P today, please. 3) Quick video clip (Lantern Festival) + picture time (cooking lesson + library event) + song time (passing out / collecting handout of lyrics). Will e-mail you lyrics soon. 4) (3P) Go over overview of Friday’s activities.

(Adam, Scott, Camille, Suzie) showcase your writing, if possible. 3) Teach new characters (喜欢, 欢喜, 篮, 球, 篮球, 篮子, 打, 打字, 打人, 打工, 打球, 打气, 气球, 皮球)

Homework: 1) Oral presentation starts from tomorrow. Use class time to work on your art project or use it as study hall time and follow school handbook policy. 2) Art project is due on Thursday, 2/25/16.

Procedure:

2. 1) Go over grammar corrections / Scrambled sentences worksheet (delete #8 on front side and #7-#11 on back side). 2) Go over common mistakes in VC activities. 3) Writing practice. 4) Go over text passages pages 66-69.

Homework: 1) Lesson Eight oral exam (Gold Team): tomorrow. 2) Grammar correction worksheet and PPT slides are due on Friday, 2/19/16. Lesson Eight chapter test: Monday, 2/22/16. 3) 2 VC activities (Vocabulary + Introduction Sentences) are due tonight, and 1 VC (audio file) is due on Friday. 4) Read textbook pages 70-72 for sentence patterns.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Take one copy of grammar corrections / unscramble sentences worksheet. Lesson Eight chapter test study guide was sent out this morning.
