Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (2/11/16)

Objectives: I can celebrate Chinese New Year by cooking Chinese pot stickers.
Homework: 1) Complete your PPT slides (family, pets, and yourself—adding language skill and citizenship + relevant pictures) by Friday, 2/19/16. 2) Reading assignment: textbook pages 70-72.
Procedure:
1. 1) Get into your team. Follow cooking instructions to cook your pot stickers. Deliver pot stickers to two teachers / staff.
2. Enjoy your hard work ☺.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (2/10/16)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about my nationality and language skills. 3) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.

Homework: Lesson Eight oral exam: Wednesday, 2/17/16 for gold team / Thursday, 2/18/16 for red team.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. 2) Write your team members and turn the list to Ms. Chang by the end of class period (3P: 4 members / team; 8P: 3 members / team). A ten-point grade will be assigned upon completion of cooking lesson (cleanness—stove / counter top / sink + team work). 3) Sign up 2 (teacher / staff) to deliver pot stickers. 4) A mistake in video assignment (school supplies)? 5) Ingredients in pot stickers??? 6) Go over cooking instructions. 7) Special treat—Alex Wong’s dragon dance.
  2. 1) Quick review. 2) Teach new characters (咦, 点, 里, 得). 3) Go over conversation questions handout.

Objectives: 1) I can talk about nationality and language skills. 2) I can sharpen my listening skills through viewing an authentic movie. 3) I can demonstrate my language skill and cultural knowledge by performing for other classes.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) YouTube videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHaEtDV_39w, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUxAhYRbFvI) will be used in chapter test listening comprehension part.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. The following students see Ms. Chang during 6P E/I to complete missed assignments (Derrick, Heesung, Ryan, James, Zachary, Scott, Luke). 2) Quick rehearsal. 3) In-school field trip.

Objectives: 1) I can celebrate Chinese New Year by performing for other students. 2) I can gain knowledge about Chinese schools and students through a presentation.

Homework: 1) Share your PPT slides (family, myself + nationality + language skills, pets) with Ms. Chang by Friday, 2/19/16. 2) 3VCs are due by the end of tonight. 3) Lesson Eight oral exam: Thursday, 2/18/16; Lesson Eight chapter test: Friday, 2/19/16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (3P) Take a netbook, turn it on, activate a browser, and set aside. 2) Quick rehearsal. Write your Chinese name on red envelope and Ms. Chang will put candy into it.
