Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (2/2/16)

Objectives: 1) I can understand the requirements for an authentic Chinese movie unit. 2) I can ask and answer questions about nationality in Chinese. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about China through viewing an authentic movie.
Homework: 1) Generate a list of 3 celebrities with their name, picture, nationality, and significance in English. It is due by the end of tonight. Four options: A: America + 2 others / B: China + 2 others / C: England + 2 other; D: Germany + 2 others. 2) Practice conversation questions.
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Take a copy of movie unit story map and questions. Take one netbook, turn it on, and set aside. CI at CSU’s announcement. “NBA “Dining Table”, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSZ5IAUaWhY. 2) Go over Movie Unit Story Map and Questions. 3) Go over conversation questions handout.
2. 1) Conversation practice. Q/A. 2) (3P) Movie time / (8P) Seat work: celebrities.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 7P (2/2/16)

Objectives: 1) I can write simple Chinese number characters. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese schools and tea culture. 3) I can explore origami.
Homework: Review learned 20 Chinese characters.
1. 1) Return test #1 papers. Check paper-cutting patterns. Review China reading packet + test #1. 2) Quick review (17 characters). 3) Teach (十, 百, 零). Collect.
2. 1) Video clips: Chinese Schools / Tea. 2) Showcase artifact (silk cocoon). 3) Origami time.
