Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (3/23/16)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about my physical descriptions.  2) I can review Chinese characters through playing flash cards.  3) I can sing songs in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Physical description paragraph is due on Tuesday, 4/5/16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. (3P) Fire Drill at 9:45 am today + Go over drill procedure.  Check PB for your 3rd quarter grade.  Draw a number for your 4th quarter seat, please.  2) Quick review.  3) Game time: Simon Says.  4) Teach new characters (友好, 上车 ó 下车, 上级 ó 下级, 年级, 一级, 上网, 网友, 一同 = 一起, 同学, 同校, 同班, 班长, 上班 ó 下班, 王, 女王, 国王, 王子).

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese.   2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese silk and embroidery.    

Homework: N/A (quiz #1: Wednesday, 4/6/16)

Procedure:

  1. 1) Count from zero to one hundred. Pass out quiz #1 paper for viewing.  2) Teach terms (de, sheng ri, nian, yue, ri).  3) Compare and contrast English and Chinese date format.  4) Write sentence #5.  5) Read sentences #1-#5.
  2. 1) Video clips: Chinese Silk / Embroidery. 2) Showcase miniature terracotta warrior and silk embroidery products.

Objectives: 1) I can talk about my physical features.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can sing songs and play game in Chinese to reinforce vocabulary.

Homework: 1) VC activity (Measure Words and Body Parts) is due by the end of tomorrow.  2) Complete your physical description paragraph draft by the end of tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Take one netbook, turn it on, and set aside.  (3P: Daniel / Zachary, Jacob / Luke; 8P: Dylan, Devin, Alex, Oliver) fix mistakes for celebrity project credit, please.  2) Quick review.  3) Game time: Simon Says.  4) Song time / Chanting time.

Homework: 1) Know five characters (眼睛, 鼻子, 眉毛, 嘴) by tomorrow. 2) Work of sentences should be completed by the end of Friday.
Procedure:
