Procedures for 3/1/16

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (3/1/16)

Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions. 2) I can create a skit independently or with a partner by applying what I have learned in class.
Homework: 1) Practice conversation questions. 2) Know all 15 learned Lesson Nine characters by tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Opening routine. Treat for students who completed crossword puzzle (3P: Liam, Ryan, Zachary, James, Katie, Heesung; 8P: George, Alex, Leah). (3P: Luke, Liam) report to Ms. Chang at 6P E/I, please. (8P: Hailey, Julia) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Surprise for tomorrow? Return papers. 2) Make a sport spinning wheel. Go over possible conversation question patterns. 3) Writing practice.
2. Seat work: 1) Conversation questions. (3P) Q/A modeling. 2) Skit time.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 7P (3/1/16)

Objectives: 1) I can understand Ms. Chang’s grading policy. 2) I can complete Student Inventory. 3) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms. 4) I can understand basic hanyu pinyin system.
Homework: Review 5 learned greeting terms (ni hao, ni shi, wo shi, lao shi, lao shi hao).
Procedure:
1. 1) Any signature slip? Get one netbook. Get a copy of Greeting Terms / Classroom Expressions / Introduction to Chinese Hanyu Pinyin handout. Return your Spanish project. Complete Student Inventory. Submit for credit.
2. 1) Go over Ms. Chang’s grading policy. 2) Introduce / go over greeting terms handout. 3) Teach (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Lao Shi, Lao Shi hao). 4) Go over Hanyu Pinyin handout. 5) Pass out / go over square paper.
