Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 7P (5/13/16)

 

Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of 20 Chinese picture and number characters.  2) I can count from zero to one hundred.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese terracotta warriors.           

Homework: Quiz #1: Monday, 5/16/16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Test #2. 2) Complete origami product #2.  3) Teach parents and sibling terms (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei).  Write sentence #4.  3) Read sentences #1-#4.  4) Count from zero to one hundred.
  2. 1) Video clip: Terracotta Warriors. 2) Showcase artifacts (figurine, embroidery, newspaper article, quiz #1 paper).

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  2) I can explore origami.   3) I can prepare for my test tomorrow.       

Homework: 1) Test #2: tomorrow.  2) Review Chinese counting principle.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Pretest simulation. 2) Teach terms (jia, you, ge ren).  Write sentence #3.  2) Read sentences #1-#3.
  2. Origami time.

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  2) I can have fun doing origami.        

Homework: Review Chinese counting principle.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Pass around quiz #1 paper for review. Teach (sui).  Write sentence #2.  Read sentences #1-#2.  2) Game time: Rock, Scissors and Paper game in Chinese / Review 10 number characters with Chinese dice.
  2. Origami time.

Homework: 1) Oral presentation starts on Wednesday, 5/25/16.  2) Art project is due on Friday, 5/27/16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take a copy of number table handout. Return character writing assignment.  (Alaina) talk to Ms. Chang, please.  2) Go over oral presentation handout.   3) Write / read sentence #1.
  2. 1) Go over number table handout. Count from 1 to 100.  2) Culture reading: Chinese school system.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (5/9/16)

 

Objectives: I can prepare for my speed character recognition quiz, chapter test and final exam oral section.

Homework: 1) 4 VCs are due by the end of today.  2) PPT hard copy is due on Friday, 4/20/16.  3) Complete skit presentation by the end of today.  4) Lesson Eleven chapter test: Tuesday, 5/17/16.  5) Speed character recognition starts from Monday, 5/16/16.           

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine. Take one set of handout.  Turn in your Kite-making project checklist (3P: Mark, Dylan, Daniel, Luke; 8P: Devin, Devin W.) and kite.  (James, Luke, Liam, Ryan, Adam) report to Ms. Chang at 6P today.  Chang needs help for Ander Link.  2) Speed character recognition.
  2. 1) Go over Lesson Eleven chapter test study guide. 2) Go over final exam oral exam prompt slip.
  3. 1) Analogy practice. 2) Go over answers.  3) Video clip: 看.

Homework: 1) Test #2: Friday, 5/13/16.  2) Quiz #1 (Connecting the Dots): Monday, 5/16/16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return test #1 papers. Andrew talks to Ms. Chang, please.  2) Quick review (17 characters).  3) Teach (十, 百, 零).    4) Audio file / rapping video for numbers.
  2. 1) Video clip: A Day at School. 2) Culture reading: Rock, Scissors.  3) Game time.

  1. 1) Opening routine. Captains check completion of worksheet.  2) Go over worksheet (part I).

Objectives: 1) I can say / comprehend Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  2) I can get cultural knowledge about Chinese paper-cuts.  3) I can explore Chinese folk art of paper cut..      

Homework: 1) Review 26 terms + 8 characters.  2) Test #1: Wednesday, 5/4/16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (24 terms). 2) Teach last 2 terms (zai jian, dui bu qi, mei guan xi).
  2. 1) Video clip: Chinese paper cuts. 2) Go over longevity and double happiness paper patterns. Collect as grade.
