Procedures for 5/20/16

Procedure for MS Chinese I 3P / 8P (5/20/16)

 

Objectives: 1) I can have fun flying a kite that I designed and made.  2) I can have fun playing Chinese yoyo and jian zi.

Homework: 1) Reflection on your kite-making project is due on Monday, 5/23/15.  2) PPT presentation starts on Monday, 5/23/16, and completes by the end of Tuesday, 5/24/16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Get a set of study guide / writing practice problems handout.  Turn in your PPT printout and checklist.  Return kite-making project checklist.  Claim your kite and tie a string handler to your kite.  Helpers are needed for Chinese yoyo.
  2. Clarification on two VCs (Table Etiquette / Mealtime Customs). Ask for copies of any culture reading article, if needed.


Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 7P (5/20/16)

 

Objectives: 1) I can name colors in Chinese.  2) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese kites.
Homework: Quiz #2 (4 sibling terms + 11 colors): Monday, 5/23/16.
Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (8 colors). 2) Teach (hui se, cheng se, fen hong se).  3) Video clip: Colors song.  4) Pass out / go over food handout.  5) Teach terms (xi huan, chi).  6) Write sentences #7-#10.  Collect.
  2. 1) Video clip: kites. Showcase pictures of exemplary art project.
