Procedures for 8/29/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (8/29/16)

Objectives: 1) I can describe sickness symptoms. 2) I can understand 1st quarter’s assessment requirements. 3) I can use adjectives to describe physical appearance..
Homework: 1) Written narration is due today / Deliver from tomorrow. 2) Review text 87.  3) Open House: 7-9, Thursday, 9/1/16. 4) First speaking task: Tuesday, 9/6/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Take one handout. A fun video to share. 2) Go over checklists for speaking task / performance tasks.  3) Writing practice. 4) Read and review p.87.
2. 1) Pair work: Go over adjectives for physical appearance. 2) Introduce a poem.

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (8/29/16)

Objectives: 1) I can say / write my Chinese name correctly. 2) I can say / write simple Chinese number characters. 3) I can say simple greeting terms. 4) I can gain political knowledge about Chinese administrative systems.
Homework: 1) Quiz #1: Wednesday, 9/7 (Greeting terms: meaning, pronunciation, blending, writing/saying your Chinese name). 2) China reading packet #2: due tomorrow.  3) Know 4 new characters (five, six, seven, eight) by Wednesday. 4) Review learned terms (#10-#13, ) from today.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Annette, Malina, Jerry) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Return any paper with your fixed work. Fun video about Pokemon Go in Taiwan. 2) Say your Chinese name. 3) Quick review (numbers).  4) Teach (五, 六, 七, 八). 4) Teach new terms.

2. 1) Go over China reading packet #2. 2) Pair work: China reading packet #2.

 

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (8/22/16)

Objectives:1) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese school and folk art of paper cut. 2) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms. 3) I can write / say simple Chinese picture characters.
Homework: 1) Test #1 (greeting terms/classroom expressions): Wednesday, 9/7/16. 2) Review newly learned greeting terms (#13).
Procedure:
1. 1) Check paper cut work for grade. Return China reading packet. (Zach) talks to Ms. Chang, please. Fix any mistakes and return paper for more credit, please.   2) Quick review (picture characters + terms).  3) Teach new terms (#13).  4) Teach characters (口, 人).

2. 1) Video clips: paper cut + Fun video about Pokemon Go in Taiwan + animation (山, 木). 2) Culture reading: Chinese school.

 

Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (8/22/16)

Objectives: 1) I can use i-Ready to know my math proficiency. 2) I can work with a team to reason out math problems.
Homework: 5-level project is due by this Friday.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Jacob, Connor) did not turn in your Team Challenge work. Return all papers. Make sure you fix mistakes to get full credit (20/20). Treat time (Mary’s group). 2) Complete Team Challenge work. Turn in your work for credit.

2. 1) Follow Ms. Chang’s directions to complete 20 minutes’ i-Ready. 2) Log in Math XL to figure out some problems.
