Procedures for 9/22/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (9/22/16)

Objectives: 1) I can narrate an imaginary story with proper conjunction words. 2) I can read text passages and tongue twister fluently and accurately. 3) I can communicate about birthday celebrations.
Homework: 1) Character writing assignment. 2) Slang / Idioms quiz: Monday, 9/26/16. 3) Review text page 100.
1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your character definitions. 2) Teach Lesson Nine page 100.
2. 1) Narration presentation. 2) While Ms. Chang conducts reading tasks <=> read 10 articles about slang and idioms.


Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (9/22/16)

Objectives: 1) I can prepare for my compound vowels quiz.  2) I can blend and discriminate compound vowels.
Homework: 1) Review compound vowels #1 for quiz on Monday. 2) Review (iao, uai) sections. 3) Retake: Monday, 9/26/16.
1. 1) Take one copy of Compound Vowels #2 handout. 2) Quick review (sounding out, blending). 3) Teach (iao, uai).

2. 1) Pre-test. 2) Go over retake procedure.  Pass back test papers / turn in your request with details of retake problems. Turn in your retake work.


Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (9/22/16)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese martial arts. 3) I can name colors in Chinese.  4) I can brainstorm art project ideas through viewing project sample work.
Homework: Review 11 colors.
1. 1) Quick review (8 colors). 2) Teach (hui se, cheng se, fen hong se.). 3) Pass out / Go over food handout. 4) Write #9-#10.  Collect.
2. 1) Showcase art projects / origami samples. 2) Video clip: martial arts.


Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (9/22/16)

Objectives: 1) I can make a table, mapping and graph to determine whether a relation is function or nonfunction.  2) I can review order of operators and calculate expressions accurately.
Homework: 1) POW#3 is due in class tomorrow. 2) MathX (defining functions) is due on next Wednesday.  3) i-Ready is due on this Sunday.
1. 1) Return all papers. (Sofia, Ian) talk to Ms. Chang, please.  2) Review terms (function, relation, mapping, table, graph, domain, range).

2.  Team activity: Create a relation and build corresponding graph, table, and mapping to make it either functional or non-functional.
3. Seat work: Computation / Calculation practice.
