Procedures for 9/23/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (9/23/16)

Objectives: 1) I can narrate an imaginary story. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about China through viewing a movie. 3) I can read text passages fluently and accurately.
Homework: 1) Fill in your story map with your notes. 2) Slang / idioms quiz: Monday, 9/26/16. 3) Complete reading text passages / tongue twister by Monday, 9/26/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Abigail, McKenna, Evy, Sydney, Natalia, Maddy, Jenna, Aaron, Ian) complete your Ni Hao One text passage reading / tongue twister please. 2) Story narration (no reading from your cell phone or from your script / printout). 3) Pair activity: Read Ni Hao II Lessons 1 & 2.
2. Movie time.

 

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (9/23/16)

Objectives: 1) I can blend and discriminate compound vowels. 2) I can solve / express math equations in Chinese.
Homework: 1) Compound Vowels #1 Quiz: Monday, 9/26/16. 2) Culture Retake: Monday, 9/26/16. 3) Lesson Three chapter test: Friday, 9/30/16. 4) Review (ui, iu) sections.
Procedure:
1. 1) MC questions will be modified slightly. 2) Quick review (blending). 3) Listening + Reading + Writing practice.
2. 1) Teach (ui, iu) sections. 2) Pair activity: flash cards to solve math equations in Chinese.

 

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (9/23/16)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese martial arts with weapons and Chinese hacky sack.
Homework: 1) Bring in art supplies on Tuesday / Wednesday next week. 2) Review oral presentation sentences. 3) Quiz #2 (colors + sibling terms): Monday, 9/26/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return draft #2.   2) Quick review (11 colors + 4 sibling terms). 3) Read oral presentation sentences.
2. 1) Video clips: Martial Arts w/weapons + hacky sack. 2) Showcase drawing art project samples + artifacts (Chinese jian zi + 18 miniature weapons).

 

Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (9/23/16)

Objectives: I can define functions and non-functions with graph, table, map and orderer pairs.
Homework: 1) MathXL (defining functions: Wednesday, 9/28/16). 2) i-Ready is due on Sunday night (9/25/16). 3) POW #4: Friday, 9/30/16. 4) Practice worksheet #2 is on next Monday.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return all papers. Turn in POW#3. POW#4 has been posted in Google Classroom. Treat time…. Clarify ordered pairs, table, map + graph, functions + non-functions. 2) Go over discussion questions.
2. Seat work: practice worksheet #2.
