Procedures for 9/6/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (9/6/16)

Objectives: 1) I can self-introduce myself.  2) (2P) I can read text passages fluently and accurately.  3) I can comprehend sickness symptoms.
Homework: 1) Presentation of your summer break activities starts from tomorrow (1P: Naomi, Joshua, Sydney + Patrick, Grace; 2P: Ben, Caroline, Shannon, Paul, Erica).  2) Speaking task #2: Monday, 9/12/16.  3) WB p. 81 is due in class tomorrow??
Procedure:
1.  1) Turn in hard copy of your PPT, if any.  Google Docs share with Ms. Chang your PPT work by the end of class period.  Write down your name on your speaking task checklist.  Collect.  2) An e-mail with handouts was sent to you last night.  2) Speaking task #1.  3) (2P) Read Lesson Eight p. 88.
2.  Seat work: 1) WB p. 81.  2) Draft your speaking task #2.

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (9/6/16)

Objectives: 1) I can prepare for my test. 2) I can understand Chinese counting principle and count from zero to one hundred. 3) I can blend and discriminate compound vowels.
Homework: 1) Test #1 (Greetings): tomorrow. 2) Review (ai, ao) sections for activity on Wednesday. 3) Quiz #1 (dictation, translation): Monday, 9/12/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Take one copy of handout (Compound Vowel #1). (Marina, Jakub) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Pre-test. 2) Count from zero to one hundred. 3) Quick review (dictation, 2-digit number translation).
2. Go over compound vowels (1) handout (ai, ao) sections.

 

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (9/6/16)

Objectives: 1) I can prepare for my test.  2) II can explore origami.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about how Chinese characters evolve over the yearss.
Homework: 1) Greetings unit test: tomorrow.  2) Test #2 (20 Chinese characters): Monday, 9/12/16.
Procedure:
1.  1)  Pre-test.  2) Origami. Check off your name as participation grade.
2.  Video clips: character animation (moon, sun, person/people).

 

Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (9/6/16)

Objectives: I can prepare for my quiz tomorrow.
Homework: 1) Thoroughly review unit 1 study guide. 2) Unit 1 quiz: tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return all papers. (Ian, Bobby, Connor, Mary) talk to Ms. Chang, please. POWs will be graded based on accuracy and quality from this week. But if you turn in earlier, you will get a chance to fix mistakes without penalty. Will assign Math XL homework tomorrow. Will not receive any credit if you do not show step by step work in your test. 2) Seat work: study guide + check answer key + POW#2. Ask team captains to help, please. 3) Enrichment game.

2.  1) Go over Order of Operators again.  2) Clarify x to the 2nd power concept and notation.
