Procedures for 9/8/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (9/8/16)

Objectives: 1) I can present my summer activities. 2) I can talk about my sickness in a diary.  3) (2P) I can self-introduce myself.
Homework: 1) Presentation of your summer break activities starts from tomorrow (1P: Abigail, Aaron, Ian, McKenna, Sara). 2) Speaking task #2: Monday, 9/12/16. 3) WB page 85.
Procedure:
1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 86. Go over answer key. 2) Present summer activities (1P: Rianna, Jenna, Michael, Carolyn, Hanna; 2P: Logan, Shaan, Luke, Grant).  3) Teach text p. 89.

2.  (2P) Seat work: 1) WB page 95.  2) Draft your speaking task #2.

 

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (9/8/16)

Objectives: 1) I can understand Chinese counting principle and count from zero to one hundred. 2) I can blend and discriminate compound vowels. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.
Homework: 1) Review 2 sections (ei, ou). 2) Quiz #1: Tuesday, 9/13/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Nick, Frank) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Count from zero to one hundred. 2) Quick review (dictation, 2-digit number translation, blending).  3) Go over compound vowels handout (ai, ao, ei, ou).

3. 1) air work: Complete Mid-Autumn Festival paper. Collect.  2) Form 3 groups for next Monday’s activity.  Captains send Ms. Chang names of your group, please.

 

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (9/8/16)

Objectives: 1) I can say / write simple Chinese number characters. 2) I can explore Chinese finger guessing game. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese terracotta warriors.
Homework: 1) Review all 20 characters. 2) Test #2 (20 Chinese characters): Tuesday, 9/13/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return papers.  2) Teach characters (十, 百, 零). 3) Video clip: number rapping / Terracotta warriors. 4) Finger guessing game.

2.  Pass out number table.

Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (9/8/16)

Objectives: 1) I can tell the difference between linear and nonlinear equations. 2) I can understand definitions of many mathematical terms.
Homework: 1) MathXL, and 3 i-Ready lessons weekly assignment are due on Monday, 9/12/16. 2) Unit 2 quiz: 9/16/16??
Procedure:
1. 1) Return all papers (POW#2 + quiz). (Shawn, Grant, Anthony, Jake) talk to me, please. No game in class. 2) Go over glossary handout ( form of linear equation, …).

2.  1) Plot dots on coordinate plane.  2) Try solutions of a linear equation.  3) Determine linear or non-linear equations..
