Procedures for 11/28/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (11/28/16)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about furniture in my room. 2) I can read text passages fluently. 3) I can narrate an imaginary story.
功课: 1) 复习课文三十七页. 2) Presentation of narration starts from tomorrow. 3) Authentic materials quiz: Friday, 12/2/16. 4) Describe your room with 5 furniture pieces and 5 direction terms (with a real / fictional picture): Wednesday, 11/30/16 (FA: 20 points).
1. 1) (Patrick, Sara) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Quick review. 2) Teach / Read text page 37.
2. 1) While Ms. Chang conducts text passages reading <=> 1) Finalize / rehearse your narration. 2) Draft your paragraph to describe your room.


Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (11/28/16)

Objectives: 1) I can read multi-syllable terms/phrases fluently and accurately. 2) I can name simple school supplies.
Homework: 1) Know 5 learned characters by Wednesday. 2) Review #1-#6 learned multi-syllable terms. 3) Complete culture reading by the end of tonight. 4) Quiz #8 (multi-syllable sight-reading): Monday, 12/5/2016.
1. 1) Take one copy of multi-syllable handout. Audio file for Multi-Syllable handout is attached in PB Resources link already. (Joe, Nick, Kate, Casey, Treyven, Kinga, Michael, Marina) talk to Ms. Chang and complete your oral exam during E/I tomorrow, please. 2) Go over Lesson Five structure / sentence patterns. 3) Teach multi-syllable handout (#1-#6).
2. Teach (笔, 毛笔, 尺, 书, 书包). 2) While Ms. Chang conducts oral exam <=> 1) Complete character writing assignment. 2) Culture reading w/exit slip. 3) Go over answer key to culture reading (Four Treasures of Study).


Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (11/28/16)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese classroom expressions. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese abacus and Chinese silk.
Homework: 1) Test #1: Friday, 12/2/16. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Review 21 terms.
1. 1) Quick review (learned terms + 4 characters). 2) Teach (qi li, jing li, qing zuo, zuo xia). 3) Teach (水, 人).
2. 1) Video clips: Chinese silk + Chinese embroidery. 2) Showcase artifacts (abacus + silk cocoons).


Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (11/28/16)

Objectives: I can calculate square / cubic root of a number. 2) I can calculate area of a plane and volume of a solid. 3) I can identify numbers as rational or irrational numbers.
Homework: 1) MathXL (Explaining the Pythagorean Theorem, 12 questions) is due on Monday, 12/6/16. 2) Unit #7 Quiz: Tuesday, 11/29/16 or Wednesday, 11/30/16??
1. 1) Return all papers. (Renee, Tommy) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Take out your calculator. Log into Google Classroom. 3) Quick review (marker + white board) and work on practice problems.

2. 1) Watch video, “Pythagorean Theorem” (link is in Google Classroom). 2) Pair Challenge questions (12 points). Turn in your work (one copy for each member).
