Procedures for 11/29/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (11/29/16)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about furniture in my room. 2) I can read text passages fluently. 3) I can present an imaginary story. 4) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese education system.
功课: 1) Paragraph describing your room is due tomorrow (a picture, 5 furniture pieces, 5 direction terms). 2) Exit slips are due tomorrow. 3) Song singing: Monday, 12/5/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Get a netbook. Log in your e-mail account to find a Google Docs that Ms. Chang shares with you. Pass out culture reading packet + copies of culture research topic. Use a sticky note for Ms. Chang to make copies of your research project topic. 2) Warm up + Presentation.
2. While Ms. Chang conducts reading text passages <=> 1) draft your room description. 2) complete culture reading w/exit slips.

 

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (11/29/16)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read multi-syllable phrase fluently and accurately. 2) I can name simple school supplies. 3) I can chant to reinforce learned phrases.
Homework: 1) Review #7-#12 learned multi-syllable terms. 2) Complete 2 culture reading w/exit slips (Cram School & Dress Codes).
Procedure:
1. 1) (Joe, Nick, Kate, Casey, Treyven, Kinga, Michael) report to Ms. Chang during E/I today, please. 2) Review / Teach multi-syllable handout. 3) Chanting.
2. While Ms. Chang conducts oral exam <=> 1) Pair work: bag activity: 2) Culture reading w/exit slip.

 

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (11/29/16)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese classroom expressions. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese abacus and how Chinese characters evolved.
Homework: Review 24 terms.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (21 learned terms). 2) Teach (shang ke, xia ke, tong xue men hao) 3) Teach (日, 月). Collect.
2. 1) Video clips: Abacus + character animation. 2) Showcase artifacts (embroidery).

 

Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (11/29/16)

Objectives: I can showcase my mastery of state standards. 2) I can sort numbers and arrange them in a number line.
Homework: 1) MathXL (Explaining the Pythagorean Theorem, 12 questions) is due on Monday, 12/6/16. 2) i-Ready cycle: 11/28-12/4. 3) Unit #7 quiz: Thursday, 12/1/16 or Friday, 12/2/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return all papers. (Tommy) talks to Ms. Chang, please. 2) i-Ready diagnostic assessment (30 minutes).
2. Seat work: 1) i-Ready. 2) MathXL. 3) Review activity (sorting numbers on number line) in Google Classroom.
