Procedures for 12/2/16

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (12/2/16)

Objectives: 1) I can describe the available amenities around my living quarter. 2) I can apply reading strategies to figure out what authentic materials mean.
功课: 1) Song singing: Monday, 12/5/16. 2) Know newly learned characters by Monday, 12/5/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Get one netbook. Log in and set aside. (Hanna, Evy, Sydney, Ian, Maddy, Rianna, Grace; 2P: Shannon) complete your narration, please. (1P: Naomi, Sara, Abigail, Evy, Sydney, Rianna, Ian, Josh; 2P: Grant, Luke, Logan, Shannon) have not completed text passages reading yet. 2) Go over culture reading answer key. 2) Read / Teach page 39 (吵, 安静,打架, 吵架, 栋, 楼上, 楼下, 层, 台, 烘干机).
2. 1) Authentic material comprehension quiz. 2) Speaking practice, if you are done with quiz.

 

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (12/2/16)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read multi-syllable phrase fluently and accurately. 2) I can ask and answer questions to confirm identity of school supplies.
Homework: 1) Multi-syllable sight reading quiz: Monday, 12/5/16. 2) Know nearly 16 learned characters by Monday, 12/5/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Joe, Michael) report to Ms. Chang during E/I, please. 2) Teach (吗, 不, 剪刀, 橡皮). 3) Review / Teach multi-syllable handout. 4) Writing practice.

 

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (12/2/16)

Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of greeting terms & classroom expressions. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese tea.
Homework: 1) Review 17 learned characters. 2) Test #2: Wednesday, 12/7/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Malissa, Ranbir, Christian) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Test #1. 3) Review (14 characters). 4) Teach (七, 八, 九).
2. 1) Video clips: Chinese school + Chinese tea. 2) Showcase artifacts: varieties of Chinese tea.

 

Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (12/1/16)

Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of roots and radical numbers unit. 2) I can apply Pythagorean theorem to solve math problems.
Homework: 1) MathXL (Explaining the Pythagorean Theorem, 12 questions) is due on Monday, 12/6/16. 2) i-Ready cycle: 11/28-12/4. 3) Unit #8 Practice worksheet #1 is due at the end of Monday, 12/5/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Tommy, Sofia, Jimmy, Jake) complete i-Ready diagnostic assessment, please. Unit #8 Unit Page and an updated Steps for Using TI-30X have been posted onto Google Classroom. 2) Mary S. explained the added procedure. 3) Unit #7 quiz.
2. Seat work: 1) i-Ready. 2) MathXL. 3) Follow unit #8 unit page and watch two videos and notes.

Procedure for HS 1P/2P Chinese IV Class (12/1/16)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about furniture in my room. It´s pretty neat too, it´s from lavitafurniture.com.au. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese society and education system through viewing a movie.
功课: 1) Authentic Materials comprehension quiz: tomorrow. 2) Song singing: Monday, 12/5/16. 3) Movie unit will be done next week. Work of comprehension questions is due on Sunday, 12/11/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) Go over culture reading answer key. 2) Writing practice. 3) Speaking practice. 4) Song time.
2. Movie time.

 

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (12/1/16)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read multi-syllable phrase fluently and accurately. 2) I can ask and answer questions to identify school supplies. 3) I can gain knowledge about Chinese school system through culture reading.
Homework: 1) Review #19-#24 (#2-#7 on the back side) learned multi-syllable terms. 2) Know 10 learned characters by Friday, 12/2/16.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Joe, Michael) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Review / Teach multi-syllable handout. 3) Go over conversations handout. 4) Step-by-step conversation question practice + Q/A + modeling.

2. Culture reading w/exit slips.

 

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Chinese Class (12/1/16)

Objectives: 1) I can prepare for my test tomorrow. 2) I can write simple Chinese characters. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese tea.
Homework: Test #1: tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (26 learned terms). 3)Teach (四, 五, 六). 4) Pre-test

2. 1) Video clips: Chinese School. 2) Showcase artifacts (Chinese publications).

Homework: 1) MathXL (Explaining the Pythagorean Theorem, 12 questions) is due on Monday, 12/6/16. 2) i-Ready cycle: 11/28-12/4. 3) Unit #7 quiz: tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) (Ian, Lily, Jimmy, Jake, Tommy, Sofia, Vanja) complete your work on i-Ready diagnostic assessment during 7 am – 4 pm, please. 2) Please log in Google Classroom for “Unit#7 Study Guide.” 2) Go over answer key.
