Procedures for 2/9/17

Procedure for HS 1P/ 2P Chinese IV Class (2/9/17)

Objectives: 1) I can read text passages fluently and accurately. 2) I can interpret video clips accurately. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese history and famous historical site.
功课: 1) Slang / Idioms quiz: tomorrow, 2/10/17. 2) Review learned text. 3) Ni Hao III text passages reading: Friday, 2/17/17.
Procedure:
1. 1) Read Ni Hao III Lesson Four. 2) Simple oral conversation Q/A (什么的). 3) Video clips: Shangsha tomb (MaWangDui) / Chinese Dynasties. 4) Go over list of slang / Idioms.
2. Seat work: 1) Try on video comprehension questions. 2) Study slang / idioms articles and video. 3) Brainstorm your skit presentation.

 

Procedure for MS 5P Chinese I Class (2/9/17)

Objectives: 1) I can describe pets. 2) I can sight read characters fluently and accurately. 3) I can ask and answer questions about pets.
Homework: 1) Pet slide is due on Monday, 2/10/17. 2) Practice conversation questions. 3) Skit is due tomorrow, 2/10/17. 4) Grammar worksheet is next Monday. 5) All VC activities are due next Monday.
6) Lesson Three chapter test: Friday, 2/17/17.
Procedure:
1. 1) Get a netbook. (Jerry, Nick, Malina) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Ms. Chang has a meeting during E/I today. Students for today are shifted to tomorrow, please. VC activities are posted already. Take one copy of Lesson Seven Grammar Corrections worksheet. 2) Review characters. Modeling (Victoria). 3) Conversation questions Q/A. 4) Read text pages 54-56 / 57-58. 5) Writing practice. 6) Introduce pet slide template.

2. Seat work: 1) Conversation questions practice. 2) Finalize skit. 3) Pet slide(s). 4) Practice character recognition. 5) Worksheet.

Procedure for MS 7P Exploratory Class (2/9/17)

Objectives: 1) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese noodle and famous Chinese dishes. 2) I can talk about myself in Chinese.
Homework: Review sentence #1-#4.
Procedure:
1. 1) Teach (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, he, liang). 2) Write / say sentences #4. Read sentences #1-#4. 3) Count from zero to 100. 4) Challenging problems with numbers.
2. 1) Video clips: Chinese Noodles. 2) Culture reading: Famous Dishes in China.

Procedure for MS 8P Pre-Algebra Class (2/9/17)

Objectives: I can understand various angle relationships and calculate angle measures.
Homework: 1) i-Ready cycle: 2/6/17-2/12/17. 2) Unit #12 practice #3 is due today. 4) POW#16 is due tomorrow, 2/10/17. 5) Team challenge problems are due at the end of class period.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return papers. Turn in retake application form and correction work. POW #17 has been posted. (Renee) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Treat time (Shawn, Leo**, Kaitlyn, Alysssa, Needla, Vanja, Tyler, Jesse, Jimmy, Jake). 2) Team Challenge Problems.

2. Seat work: POW #16 + i-Ready + Unit #13 practice #3.
