HS 1P/3P Algebra I Class (8/31/17)

Objectives: 1) I can use a TI-84 calculator to get cube root of numbers. 2) write summary statements describing the graph of a square root function.
3) I can generate a list of questions that will facilitate future relation investigations. .
Homework: 1) Chapter 1 Team test: Monday, 9/11/17. Individual test: Wednesday, 9/13/17. 2) Section 1.2.1 pages 20-21 (1-38 ~ 1-42).
Procedure:
1. 1) Return papers. (1P: Sheiry / Group 1) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Exchange and check H/W. Collect. 3) Learn to use a TI-84 to cube or get cube root of a number. 4) Presentation of quadratic equation graphs.
2. 1) Take out learning log to jot down questions. Refine your square root equation work. Collect. 2) Quiz #2.

Procedure:
1. 1) Put sticky note for parking lot questions, please. Any signature slip / Student Inventory? (1P: Josh, Miranda, Marco / 3P: Maria, Breana E. + Marko + Lidia) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Explain how Ms. Chang grades your paper. Check PB for accuracy regularly, please. Points for homework will be reduced to 2 points from next week. 2) Answer & Check H/W problems 1-13 ~ 1-17. 3) Read collaborative learning expectations out loud (page 9, 1-10). 4) Show answers from Activities A and B. Calculators are allowed on most assessment.  2) Introduce Learning Pyramid. 3) Answer & Check H/W problems.  Collect your homework.  4) Clarify 2 similar problems.

WL PLC meeting today => No E/I tutoring today (Ms. Chang e-mailed 7 E/I students an audio file for greeting terms already). Ms. Chang will e-mail the entire class of students an audio file for b/p/m/f section this afternoon.

Homework: Complete China packet by the end of class period today. Will go over answer key tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Any signature slip? Turn in your Student Inventory. Get a copy of square paper. Log in your chromebook and open the electronic course syllabus. 2) Introduce another website for pinyin chart, and make sure to get a webhosting agency. Listen to / repeat the pronunciation of your name.
2. 1) Introduce 8 basic strokes. Practice basic strokes with Ms. Chang. 2) Pass out China reading packet. Individual/Pair work: read China packet and complete page #4 <=> Ms. Chang checks everyone’s pronunciation.
3. If you are done with China reading packet, click 3 links to your China name and follow stroke order to write your name.

2. 1) Get a netbook with the number matched your class number. 2) Follow the procedure to enroll your eTextbook. Test logging in, please. Return your netbook to the right slot and charge it, please. 3) Pass out and sign off your textbook hardcopy with details, please.
