Procedures for 8/28/17

HS 1P/3P Algebra I Class (8/28/17)

Objectives: 1) I can describe a parabola, using its intercepts, minima, maxima, vertex, symmetry, and whether it is positively or negatively oriented. 2) I can prepare for my quiz #1.
Homework: 1) Quiz #1: tomorrow (Simplifying / Evaluating). No calculator! 2) Section1.1.3 Page 17 Problems 1-26 ~ 1-29.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return all papers. (1P: Vlad, Emma W.; 3P: Tim) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Open house: Thursday, 9/1/17. Get a surprise if mom/dad shows up. You will not get credit if you do not show work on your H/W or future assessment. New role responsibilities. 2) Resource managers check school supplies and return records to Ms. Chang. 3) Motivational Monday: video clip. 4) Share Student Inventory / Questionnaire summary tomorrow. 5) Exchange H/W and go over answer key. Collect.
2. 1) Practice for Quiz tomorrow. 2) (1P) Section 1.1.3.

 

MS 5P Chinese I Class (8/28/17)

Objectives: 1) I can blend and discriminate vowels and consonants. 2) I can say greetings terms in Chinese. 3) I can know the significance of major cities in China.
Homework: 1) Review p section. 2) Quiz #1(writing and saying your Chinese name) and writing assignment: tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Take one copy of greetings terms handout. 2) Captains check school supplies. Return records to Ms. Chang. Pass out textbooks and sign off your book, please. E/I students report to Ms. Chang, please. 3) Dictation/Sounding out loud.
2. 1) Video clip: Shanghai. 2) Go over p section. 3) Go over greetings terms handout. 4) Pair work practice.

 

MS 7P Exploratory Chinese (8/24/17)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greetings terms. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese schools and major cities in China.
Homework: Review learned terms.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return China reading packet. Take one copy of 20 characters handout. Be prepared to have an exit procedure at 1:25 pm today. 2) Quick review. 3) Teach (xie xie, bu xie, bu ke qi). 4) Class activity.
2. Video clip: Beijing / Chinese school.
